It is pretty pathetic when asked what I wanted for Mothers day, the first thing that popped into my head was a babysitter, so I could deep clean the house. I have so much admiration for all of you mom bloggers that manage to work, work at home, stay at home and blog so often!
Life has been nuts, my little girl was sick, I was sick, hubs is getting ready for finals (read - gone each evening and all weekend) I am half expecting the dog to start talking and ask to be taken to another home seeing as he is super neglected.
So whats new...
I am obsessed with my new vacuum, a gift from my sweet dad after a meltdown over my broken one a few weeks back. Anyone with a toddler will attest to the daily (sometimes hourly) need for a vacuum.
pretty sure that's the first and only home depot link for me
I never got the hype about a Dyson until I owned one. Now I look forward to vacuuming, seriously.
I scooped both these for spring and summer and cannot wait to finally wear them, warmer temps would be nice right about now
Too bad I seemed to have majorly missed the boat and everyone has found an extremely similar if not identical pair of sandals at target
I picked up these shorts and tank at lulu recently and somehow the shorts are just as magical as the pants (the "un see-through" kind) they are so flattering! If you are in the market for some new workout gear these are incredible and worth every penny. (they are not super short but not nearly as long as they look in this picture, a bit shorter and not as baggy/full as the nike tempo shorts)
My little lady continues to make me laugh daily especially with her ridiculous vocabulary, so much so that hubs and I really need to watch our tongues, I caught her saying "SHHHH No No!" to the dog the other day:) Getting a picture of her still, without a blur is next to impossible - she is always on the move! She lovveess dress up, especially in my closet, "putting on makeup"(pulling everything out of my makeup bag while I get ready), foam rollers - clearly, and riding in her new car (such a daddy's girl!)
As crazy as things are I don't let a day go by without counting my blessings, and all those in my life who make it worth living.
With this amazing weather baby girl and I have made daily trips to the playground. My diaper bag is ridiculous, I feel as moms we tend to have Mary Poppins style diaper bags. I knew I needed to streamline things a bit.We are lucky enough to be in an a walkable neighborhood and my lampshade containing diaper bag doesn't fit under my stroller, and its just overkill for a morning or afternoon at the playground.
I took one of her little totes and stocked it with the essentials....this is what I have on hand!
Her beach bag is a whole different story...but I cant wait to stock that too!!
I'm so obsessed with the new kind bar
dark chocolate cherry cashew flavor it took all my strength not to buy
the entire display at whole foods yesterday
Speaking of whole foods I think I
have finally discovered the secret to grocery shopping with a toddler ...
Bribery - don't judge! I was able to check each item off my list while
Ms. Peanut snacked on cheese from the deli and shortbread tea cookies:)
The weather has been beautiful!! We
stopped by the cherry blossoms on Sunday, which weren't quite at their peak,
but pretty all the same and made it out for a two hour walk and trip to the
playground yesterday in the 80 degree heat (which was amazing) and so nice for
all of us after being cooped up all winter long!
Baby girl loves the sandbox soo
much I cannot wait for our first trip to the beach house which may be as soon
as two weeks - woohoo!
A HUGE thank you to Melissa at for the love , my long
time bloggie friend, who recommended the Elmo singing with the stars dvd -she
got one for her sweet girl Blaire- this did not disappoint, we played two
songs for her yesterday to which she danced and screamed for more- going into
our daily rotation for certain!
I am still getting the rest of my summer goodies
up (some are already listed) but if you or anyone you know is in need of
personalized shirts , especially for summer or camp(I have girly ruffle tops
too) shoot me an email email@example.com
To say I hit a "rough patch" might be putting it lightly but I am hoping/ praying that life is finally starting to get back to normal. I had high hopes for yesterday but my vacuum cleaner died, and I literally sat on the floor and cried, it was the last straw, embarrassing but true.
We had a lovely Easter, and Ms. Peanut was so into her baskets and hunting for eggs, I was pretty surprised. She is becoming such a little girl its crazy!
We survived our first experience of a little one with a stomach bug and I wanted to die. Hubs was able to set up the pack and play in the living room so I could rest on the couch with her. Poor girl was a trooper and I am still playing catch up with the laundry!
But the outlook is good, I have been working hard getting new spring and summer onesies and shirts done and they will be up in my shop soon! The temps actually may reach the 60s and stay there this weekend, and I have a girls night planned with my oldest and dearest twinnies that are in town for a visit!
For my 30th last week I was gifted
not one but two spa gift certificates from friends and family - I guess it's
obvious how much I neglect myself but I'm trying not to take it as a direct
hint that I desperately need a mani!
I will be knocking on the Red Door for a day of beauty and relaxation and I cannot wait. Lets be real here for a moment, most of us need to make some spa time for ourselves at home each day.
Here are some fun products and ideas
that will help us do just that!
Throw cucumbers, citrus, really anything into a pitcher of ice water, let chill briefly, then sip and enjoy! So yummy and refreshing.
Cucumber eye pads
Produce is fun but you will always
have these on hand to take the puff out and liven up those eyes:)
La source foot products
My mom and I have been huge fans of
this line for over two decades!
Lavender eye pillow
Whether you are using during
shavasana or on the couch with real housewives on in the
background it will be equally relaxing:)
Aveda blue oil
Spa in a bottle! A little on the
temples or the back of the neck and you can take a spa moment anywhere.
Bonus - it lasts forever, seriously.
My poor little bloggie I am sorry you are so neglected. Most days I feel like I can't find the time to care for Ms. peanut and get everything done around the house, let alone time to sit down and write a blog post! (Any advice on how to make time for yourself as a SAHM I'm all ears) I do set the alarm each day for 5 and hit the gym, but sometimes that seems more like torture than "me time" especially when this is the weather forecast as of late....
When boots and sweaters are still in the weekly lineup I find it extra hard to keep motivation up for those high intensity workouts that make me feel so great So here are a few (two)pieces of inspiration to remind me that warm weather will eventually be here..and my butt better be in shape!
