Happy Halloween!

We weathered the storm! My thoughts and prayers go out to those still suffering the ill effects from Sandy!
Our Halloween plans were cancelled this past weekend so I am hoping to carve the tiny little decorative pumpkin we have with Ms Peanut this evening, because that's all we have!

Hubs's course schedule got moved around because of the storm so this evening is turning out to be a quiet one for Ms Peanut and I. She has worn her costume a few times for various events so she may fore-go the tutu since we will just be sitting around.

I will be sure to have The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown on since its a family tradition and her first Halloween :)

If anyone is looking for a last minute recipe to bring to a party this evening make these...they are pretty simple and super yummy - I may have eaten these by the fistful (whoops)!

Happy Halloween!!

Sandy you B!!

Dear Sandy,

You ruined my weekend and trip to Seawitch by causing a mandatory evacuation at the beach. You are at this very moment potentially blowing in the widows and causing total destruction of our beach house.   You threaten to leave me without power, with an infant and a 4 pound dog, for several days!! No blow dryer and no access to reality TV is not a good thing.

We are stocked up on non perishables and things that don't require refrigeration, which includes :cereal, chips, granola bars, fruit cups and candy corn, so not only are you messing up my week you are messing up my figure!!!! Lets hurry up and get this over with.

Mother Nature is  B!

Hope any and everyone in the path of Sandy stays safe during this storm.

Radio Silence beginning now.

A Lust and a Must

So if you know anything about me you know how much I loooovveee Laura Mercier bath & body products. Last week at Nordstrom with my mom I found this at the counter. Tarte au Citron.....the most incredibly smelling stuff ever!! Its limited edition, I'm praying they launch in in full size, and in holiday boxes. I am reallly hoping Santa picks some (or all they have in backstock!) up for me this Christmas!

I'm sure many of you also received a twistband in your September Birchbox, but I am obsessed.  A total Emi Jay convert, I even ordered a bunch for my mom and one for Ms Peanut ( this baby has so much hair!). These would make incredible stocking stuffers for anyone on your Christmas list this year

Happy Hump Day:)

Fall Fun

Saturday Ms. Peanut, the poodle, Hubs and I all packed in the car for a day trip to Carter Mountain Orchard in Charlottesville, Virginia. A 2 hour road trip and both the baby and the dog were excellent!

Hubs lived in Charlottesville with his first job after we graduated. We had heard about the orchard and fall activities on the mountain when he lived there. Never did I imagine years ago during our first visit how much our lives would change over the next few years, but It was a wonderful feeling to bring our daughter to the orchard and start our little family traditions:)

They have the most amazing apple cider donuts ever, we talk about them all year so our first stop was for a 6 pack!!

My Mom made this adorable Pumpkin Hat for Ms Peanut and with chilly fall temps and serious winds on the Mountain I was sooo happy to have it, not to mention she looked so cute in it:)

I wish Santa could bring these too!

She seemed to love the texture of the pumpkins

Her hat looks like part of the patch!

The poodle doing his best in the wind!

In the orchard! We scored lots of delicious Stayman apples

Ms Peanut Slept the entire ride home, with her little poodle keeping a close eye in the back seat.

Ms Peanut and I made a big batch of applesauce Saturday evening and I hope that its a tradition we continue for years to come

Ramblings from a sleep deprived mom

So much has gone on in the past week I feel like I am just catching my breath. Props to all you mommy bloggers who can post so often, I feel like its an accomplishment If I can get laundry done and dinner on the table!

Heartbreak...

I waited 29years and Ms Peanut only had to wait 8 months to attend her first NLDS game..I cannot lie it was pretty awesome. Losing in game 5 was tough but I have faith we will be back there soon!

TROUBLE

Ms Peanut started walking with a push toy at my parents last week so sweet hubs went out and scooped up a pink ride on shopping cart for her this week...she loves it, especially the iphone that rings:)

In the same week we were all sweating at the Nats game the temps dipped into the 50's which was a nice (albeit short) change here in the metro area. I was super excited to finally bust out the Jamie Rae hat for Ms. Peanut!

Fat Kid

This apple crisp is absurd, so easy and quick and just downright scrumptious

Sick Baby

Ms Peanut got her first real cold this week, and it has been a show. No sleep, trouble breathing, nursing and eating, but my sweet baby still has a smile on her face!

DISGUSTING (LY AWESOME!)

Parenting has changed me. I never in a million years would fathom using something like this, and now I am singing its praises. I will spare you the details in case you don't know how it works, but It was the only thing to help Ms Peanut to breathe this week.

Lastly,

Our MOMS club is hosting its annual Halloween Party tonight (early I know) and I am so excited to put Ms Peanut in her first (all homemade I may boast) Halloween costume...Legwarmers and a bow have been added and I cannot wait to share the final look:)

Happy Friday!!

Weekend Review ..I know its Thursday!

Holy moly, its Thursday and I am just getting around to posting about the fantastic weekend/first flight with Ms Peanut.

The car seat bag was a beast, in hindsight I would have spent the extra money for one with wheels. That being said the entire experience with a "Lap Baby" was awesome. We gate checked her carseat to ensure it was the first thing off the plane as opposed to trying to pick it up at baggage claim - leaving lots of room for it to get lost and or damaged.  We flew Southwest and took advantage of "Family Boarding" allowing us to snag a middle and aisle seat in case I needed to get up and walk around.

To say I was nervous/stressed would be an understatement, all eyes were on Ms Peanut and I at the gate, everyone wondering if this little lady would scream the entire way. She did nothing of the sort. I kid you not My daughter laughed hysterically for a majority of the flight, over what we don't know but we were laughing right along with her. My Mom snapped some pics to document her giggle fit:)

And now for the most unflattering pictures of myself ever...

My bestie Jen and I (her twin sister was the shower honoree) whipped up a diaper cake in the hotel after a fantastic dinner at Oscars followed by the most absurd ice cream ever at Jenis both in Dublin. Ms Peanut did her part by "riding" around in the pampers box on the carpet.

She had her first hotel breakfast in her pajamas (the life I tell you)
